During Bob Saget’s funeral, John Stamos told the cast of Full House what the Olsen twins had said to be nice to them.
Stamos, who is 60 years old, talked about the Full House return on SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern Show on Tuesday. He did this while at the funeral for the late lead actor Bob Saget.
Stamos talked about rumors of problems between the three and said that the fashionista twins told their former co-stars something private that “everyone just needed to hear” when they were dealing with Saget’s death. They didn’t give a eulogy.
“They got us all together and said, ‘We love you. We loved our childhood. We’re grateful for you guys, we thank you for making those eight years so beautiful for us. We have such fond memories,’” Stamos told host Howard Stern what the girls said.
The actor who played Grandfathered appreciated the Olsen twins’ kindness. He and the twins had a rough time when he tried to get them to work on the 2016 followup to Full House, Fuller House.
Stamos remembered being mad at the sisters at first because they wouldn’t come back for the show’s second season. But he later realized that the twins, who have since quit acting and are now award-winning fashion designers, probably felt disrespected because he asked their agent instead of them directly.
There was no turning back now because things “got weird in the press.”
The TV show Full House ran for eight years, from 1987 to 1995. Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen played the young Tanner sisters to the late Bob Saget’s character.
