Hispanic Heritage Month is a time to recognize the contributions of the Hispanic and Latino communities, with festivities highlighting their rich cultural and artistic impact while promoting understanding and appreciation of their diverse heritage.
The city of Rahway celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month with activities and events offering something for everyone in the community.
“I am proud to host Hispanic Heritage events in our city,” said Rahway’s Mayor Raymond A. Giacobbe. “I sincerely hope you join us in exploring the diverse histories, vibrant traditions, and invaluable contributions of our Hispanic communities.”
DJ Fauzi Electrifies Arts District Park
Celebración in the Arts District Park with the sounds of DJ Fauzi featuring live performances and dessert giveaways in the heart of Rahway’s downtown district, near the Union County Performing Arts Center at 69 Irving St. on Thursday, Sept. 19 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Hispanic Heritage Flag Raising
Residents are invited to join a Hispanic Heritage Month flag-raising at noon on Tuesday, Sept. 15, Train Station Plaza, 1 City Hall Plaza. (Located near the Rahway Transit train station.)
SALUDOS! From Our Neighbors: 6th Annual Celebration of Hispanic & Latin Artists
The Gallery Space will showcase the incredible talent of Hispanic and Latin artists with an opening reception and an art exhibit featuring eight local artists on Sunday, Sept. 15, from 1 to 4 p.m. at 1670 Irving St. The exhibit will be on display from Sunday, Sept. 15 to Friday, Oct. 11, 2024.
Celebrate at the Senior Center
The Rahway Senior Center will host a Hispanic Heritage Month celebration on Thursday, Sept. 19, at 12 p.m., 1306 Esterbrook Ave. For more information and to register, call 732-827-2016.
Lucha Libre Pro Wrestling
The popular Mexican wrestling style will feature a match between Fuego Del Sol and Ichiban on Monday, Oct. 28. Doors open at 6 p.m. at Rahway Recreation Center, 275 E. Prime-Time Music Series: Swing Sabroso
