Ben Cheatham joined McDermott Will & Emery as a partner in its energy and project finance practice in Washington, the firm announced Friday.
Cheatham’s practice focuses on US federal income tax matters in the renewable and transitional energy sectors, the firm said. He advises clients on financing, development, operation, acquisition, and disposition of energy projects, with an emphasis on investment and production tax credits, direct pay, and credit transfer transactions under the Inflation Reduction Act.
Additionally, he advises clients under audit by the Internal Revenue Service and in litigation with the Justice Department.
