Orcas Center’s Visual Arts Committee is pleased to present the first community show of the year: Textile and Fiber Arts on Friday, Feb. 14 from 5:30-7 p.m. in the Madrona Room.
Textile art uses plant, animal or manmade fibers to make practical or decorative objects, or a combination of both. Materials such as cotton, wool, silk, acrylic, nylon, rayon and polyester are utilized through weaving, knitting, crocheting, embroidery, quilting and felting to create not only gorgeous works of art but practical everyday items as well!
Join us for this fantastic show featuring the fiber artwork of our friends and neighbors. Community shows are open to all island artists, beginning and experienced alike. The purpose is to showcase island art and celebrate our creative island. Light refreshments will be provided, and Ron Myers will be on the piano. For more information, visit www.OrcasCenter.org.
