KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A man died at the hospital after being hit by a car when he got out of his parked car in Kansas City over the weekend.
Around 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, a man parked his Buick on Prospect Avenue near East 41st Street. When he left his car the driver of a black Chevrolet hit the man and his Buick, according to Kansas City police.
Police say it appeared the driver was then trying to leave the scene before hitting a stopped Nissan on Prospect.
The man who was hit outside of his Buick was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead “shortly after.” The driver of the Chevrolet who hit him was taken to the hospital without serious injuries and the driver of the Nissan refused treatment after being minorly hurt.
