หลายคนอาจจะคุ้นชินกับอาหารจานด่วนหรือกินอาหารนอกบ้าน จนรู้สึกจำเจ กระทั่งในบางครั้งยังนึกไม่ออกว่าจะสั่งอาหารอะไรดี น้ำพริกปลาทู กับข้าวคู่บ้าน ที่กินไม่รู้เบื่อ เป็นเมนูที่แสนธรรมดาแต่ว่ากินได้บ่อยครั้งครับ ยิ่งในช่วงหน้าฝนด้วยแล้วผักข้างรั้วแตกผลิ ไม่ว่าจะเป็นยอดกระถิน ชะอม ตำลึง และอื่นๆ ก็ล้วนแต่เก็บมากินสดๆ ลวกกินกับน้ำพริกปลาทูได้ด้วยกันทั้งนั้น สำหรับการทำน้ำพริกปลาทูนั้นก็แสนเรียบง่าย ไม่ยุ่งยากมีขั้นตอนดังนี้ ย่างปลาทูให้สุก กะพอประมาณ 1 ถ้วย คั่ว พริก หอม กระเทียมในกระทะเพื่อใช้ปรุง แกะปลาทูเอาเฉพาะเนื้อ ตำเนื้อปลาทูกับพริก หอม กระเทียม ที่คั่วเตรียมไว้ ตำให้เข้าเนื้อ ตักใส่ถ้วยละลายด้วยน้ำอุ่น คนให้เข้ากันตามชอบ เหยาะผงชูรสนิดหน่อย แล้วเหยาะน้ำปลาอีก 1 ช้อน หั่นต้นหอมลงถ้วย เพียงเท่านี้ก็จะได้น้ำพริกปลาทูรสอร่อยที่อยู่คู่ครัวเรือนมานาน และกินได้บ่อยครั้งโดยไม่รู้เบื่อ ปัจจุบัน เมนูอาหารบ้านเราได้รับความนิยมหลากหลายชนิด เช่น ส้มตำ ลาบ ผัดกะเพรา ผัดไทย ต้มข่าไก่ ฯลฯ ถ้าหากว่าวันไหนเบื่ออาหารที่ค่อนข้างมันและอาหารจานด่วนทั้งหลาย ก็หันมากินอาหารเรียบง่ายที่อยู่คู่บ้านมาช้านาน เช่น น้ำพริกปลาทูแล้วเก็บผักข้างรั้ว เช่น กระถิน หรือจะกินกับผักสด…
