นายเศรษฐา ทวีสิน นายกรัฐมนตรี รมว.คลัง ให้สัมภาษณ์หลังได้ทดลองนั่งประจำตำแหน่งนายกรัฐมนตรี ยี่ห้อเมอร์เซเดส-เบนซ์ S600 Guard Sedan Long สีดำ ทะเบียน 4 กค 29 ซึ่งเป็นรถซีดาน หุ้มเกราะที่จัดซื้อพร้อมกัน 4 คันเพื่อใช้เป็นรถประจำตำแหน่งนายกรัฐมนตรีและรับรองแขกคนสำคัญของรัฐบาลว่า ตนอยากทดลองนั่ง เนื่องจากมีคนบอกว่ากระจกหนา จึงอยากทดลองนั่งแล้วมองออกไป แต่ที่มีการรายงานข่าวว่าศรีษะติดเพดานรถและนั่งไม่สบายนั้น ยืนยันว่าไม่ได้ติดตามที่เป็นข่าว พูดกันไปเอง “ไม่ติดหรอกครับ ใครบอกว่าติด เขาพูดกันเอง เขาพูดไม่ใช่ผมพูด ซึ่งเมื่อลองนั่งแล้วสบายมาก ไม่ต้องซื้อใหม่ ก็เหมือนรถธรรมดา ก็นั่งได้ตามปกติ เพราะตนสูงแบบนี้มาตั้งแต่อายุ 15 ปีแล้ว และหลังจากนี้ก็คงใช้รถคันดังกล่าว เพราะเป็นรถประจำตำแหน่ง และอาจจะมีสลับใช้รถส่วนตัวบ้าง” เมื่อถามว่าเป็นรถคันเดียวกันกับที่อดีตนายกรัฐมนตรี พลเอกประยุทธ์ จันทร์โอชา เคยใช้ นายเศรษฐา ระบุว่า ยังไงได้หมด เป็นรถที่พลเอกประยุทธ์ เคยใช้ก็ไม่เป็นไร เพราะเป็นรถที่ยังดีอยู่ รวมถึงยังใช้งานได้ดี
