Palisades wildfire in California: Hollywood pauses production, award shows


The devastating and still-raging Palisades fire has destroyed over 10,000 residences, stores and other buildings and killed at least 10 people

The blaze has also halted TV and film productions in Hollywood and disrupted entertainment awards show season

Several television shows that film in California have had their production schedules altered by the Palisades fire.

What’s Trending notes that auditions for ”America’s Got Talent,” originally scheduled for Sunday, January 12, have been postponed, with no announced make-up date.

Taping of Jimmy Kimmel Live was also disrupted.

Other popular shows have been impacted as well.

“A number of popular television shows halted production due to the ongoing fires. ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy and Doctor Odyssey were affected, along with CBS shows such as NCIS and NCIS: Origins,” read What’s Trending’s account. “Additionally, NBCUniversal paused production on several series, including Hacks and Ted.

“The Warner Bros. studio lot also experienced a shutdown, impacting shows like Abbott Elementary and The Pitt.”

Oscar nominations delayed by Palisades fire

The Palisades fire also forced the cancelation of the BAFTA Tea Party and the postponement of the Critics Choice Awards.

Additionally, the premieres for Pamela Anderson’s “The Last Showgirl” and Jennifer lopez’ “Unstoppable” were both reportedly cancelled, and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences also announced that it would delay the release of Oscar nominations.
