READY AND RESILIENT: Resiliency prayer breakfast gives food for thought

Thirty people attended a spiritual resiliency family fitness prayer breakfast Friday at Fox Army Health Center.

Fox Army Health Center served as host for the event in its basement Fox Den. Family resiliency was the theme.

“It was really good, really informative,” attendee Dajuan Barbra, a budget analyst at Fox, said. “Gave you a lot of good stuff to think about outside of a normal get-together. It gave you a lot to think about.”

Garrison Chaplain (Lt. Col.) Matt Madison was the speaker.

“The Army really cares about the overall health of Soldiers, families and civilians,” Madison said. “And a key component of that health is spiritual health. So, when it comes to families what does it take to be a spiritually healthy family. And it starts with you being a spiritually healthy individual.”

On Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, Bicentennial Chapel will have its regular Sunday service at 11 a.m. and a special Christmas Eve candlelight service at 6 p.m.

The Commander’s Ready and Resilient Council serves as the Redstone senior commander’s platform to fulfill the Army’s ready and resilient objectives. The council includes four working groups: Physical Health, Behavioral Health, Spiritual Resiliency, and Family and Social Resiliency.
