The 35th annual Brentwood Summer Concert Series returned to Crockett Park and this April story had readers’ interest due to the announcement of a four-show slate for 2024.

Consistently a reader favorite each month, the Franklin Theatre movie offerings have something for everyone and January in particular seemed to grab people’s attention.

3. American Idol’ Alum, Grammy Winner Mandisa Found Dead in Franklin Home

In April, the community mourned the loss of gospel singer and former American Idol contestant Mandisa Hundley who was found dead in her Franklin home. There were no indications of criminal activity and it was later revealed she died of natural causes. After growing up in the Bay Area of California, Mandisa moved to Nashville to attend Fisk University, where she was a member of the legendary Fisk Jubilee Singers. During her career, Mandisa was nominated for five Grammys. In 2014, she won Best Contemporary Christian Album for her most successful album Overcomer.

2. Zach Bryan Selects Leiper’s Fork Bar Fox & Locke for Music Premier

Several local artists performed Zach Bryan hits before the SRO crowd at Fox & Locke, leading up the preview of The American Bar Scene. LtoR: Jake Matthew, Rachel Summers, Lillie Kolich, Kyle Matthew and Alyssa Flaherty. 




In June, country music star Zach Bryan chose Leiper’s Fork bar and music venue Fox & Locke as one of a select few locations across the country to hear debut songs from his latest album The Great American Bar Scene.

1. FirstBank Amphitheater Announces First Slate of Concerts for 2024 Season



FirstBank Amphitheater

The FirstBank Amphitheater seats 7,500 people and is among the largest outdoor music venues in the state.




In March, FirstBank Amphitheater announced a slew of concerts from the 60th birthday celebration for Maynard James Keenan to Neil Young, Staind, New Kids On the Block, to The Avett Brothers and more.
