PITTSFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) – An investigation is underway after one man is dead in a serious motor vehicle crash on Saturday night

According to the Pittsfield Police Department, at around 7 p.m. the officers responded to the area of West Housatonic Street for a report of a car and dirt bike crash.

Officials said a 2022 Honda Ridgeline driven by 53-year old Peter Schettini of Pittsfield was traveling south on Plymouth Street, when he hit a dirt bike that was traveling west on West Housatonic Street.

The dirt bike driver, 34-year-old john Tyska, also from Pittsfield died due to the extent of his injuries.
