EDISON, NJ — One juvenile from Newark was arrested after a fight broke out in the food court of the Menlo Park Mall Monday evening, said Edison Police Chief Thomas Bryan.
While there were initial reports of a large fight in the food court, with possible shots fired, police investigated and there were no gunshots fired, he said.
At about 5:30 p.m. Monday, Edison Police received a call of a large fight in the food court of the mall, he said. There were also reports of possible shots fired.
This garnered a large response from Edison Police. While the fight attracted a large amount of people, mostly teens, it was ultimately three teens in the center who were detained by police. None of them had a gun.
One person was arrested, a teen from Newark, and he was charged with assault, said the police chef. The fight was large and many people in the mall at the time gathered to witness it, or record video.
