An 11-year-old boy was sent to a hospital Friday evening after he was hit by a car in Citrus Heights, officials said.The Citrus Heights Police Department said the boy was hit crossing the crosswalk around 9 p.m. at Greenback Lane and Auburn Boulevard while it was not activated for pedestrians.Police said the boy has major injuries.The road where the crash happened will be closed for about an hour, police said.Details were not released on what caused the crash, but DUI and speed are not considered factors.This is a developing story.
