CRANSTON, R.I. (WLNE) — The Cranston Police Department said that a 13-year-old male is in critical condition after being struck by a car while crossing Phenix Avenue.

Maj. Todd Patalano said that the juvenile was hit around 5 p.m. during “heavy traffic” near the T.D. Bank.

Patalano added that the department believe the accident happened near where police markers were placed on the road.

The victim was transported to Hasbor Children’s Hospital and is in critical condition. Patalano said his family has been notified.

ABC6 News crews on the scene saw what appeared to be clothing inside the marked area.
