17-year-old drunk driver crashes into multiple cars, including MPD squad car, police say


MEMPHIS, Tenn. – A 17-year-old drunk driver crashed into multiple parked cars, including a MPD squad car in The Heights neighborhood, police said.

According to the Memphis Police Department, a BMW 328i driven by a 17-year-old was going westbound on Rosamond Avenue when the front driver’s side of the car hit a GMC Sierra.

The teen driving the BMW continued going westbound with the front driver hitting the side of another car, a Chevrolet Monte Carlo. The teen driver also hit the side of an unoccupied MPD squad car, police said.

The 17-year-old was sent to LeBonheur’s Children Hospital in non-critical condition, police said. 

He was later placed under arrest and issued a juvenile summons for a DUI, no state license, financial responsibility, reckless driving, public intoxication, curfew, and driver to exercise due care.
