Town of Jefferson, Wis. (WMTV) – A teen from Monroe was killed Wednesday afternoon when his car crashed into a tree.

The Green County Sheriff’s Office says just before 3:30 p.m. the 17-year-old boy was driving a black 2007 Subaru Impreza southbound on Freeport Road in the Town of Jefferson when he failed to make a turn at the Theiler Rd. intersection, driving into the ditch and into a tree.

Airbags were deployed but he was pronounced dead at the scene. The Green County Coroner’s Office is not releasing the driver’s name until his family is notified.

The crash is still under investigation.

The Sheriff’s Office says this is the seventh traffic death of 2023 in Green County.
