
The No.20 University of Minnesota Duluth women’s basketball team returns to Romano Gymnasium for the second weekend in a row to host the Wayne State College (NE) Wildcats and the Augustana University Vikings in a pair of Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) matchups.

THE SEASON SO FAR
The Bulldogs return to action following a two win weekend against the Michigan Tech Huskies and the Northern Michigan Wildcats in their first homestand of the regular season. UMD now sit at an overall record of 4-1 and a conference record of 1-0 after taking down NSIC rival MSU Mankato. The Bulldogs enter this weekend ranked no.20 in the most recent WBCA national coaches poll, and remain the NSIC team ranked in the top 25.
SCOUTING REPORT
The Wayne State College (NE) Wildcats remain at an overall record of 3-1 and a conference record of 0-1 after losing to the Southwest Minnesota State Mustangs in their conference opener but defeating the Emporia State University Hornets in their most recent game. The Bulldogs are 5-5 against the Wildcats since 2014, with their most recent win being in their final meeting last season. The Augustana University Vikings remain at an overall record of 1-2 and a conference record of 1-0 this season with their only win being against the University of Sioux Falls Cougars. The Bulldogs are 7-5 against the Vikings since 2014 and defeated them on the road in their most recent matchup towards the end of last season.

Women’s basketball will head out for another road trip next weekend to take on the University of Sioux Falls Cougars and the Southwest Minnesota State University Mustangs. The action will tip off for UMD on Friday, Dec. 8, at 7:30 PM.
