The much-anticipated fundraiser for 232-HELP was alive with the sounds of Neil Diamond on Thursday, Oct. 25 at La Pavillon in Lafayette. The annual gala helps raise funds and awareness for the many services the agency provides. Those services include connecting the vulnerable resources to provide basic human needs. They range from food and clothing assistance to shelter, disaster, and recovery help, as well as physical and mental health care.
The event also honors community members who have made outstanding contributions to the underserved population. Dr. Mary Neilheisel received the Jewell P. Lowe Humanitarian Award, and the Junior League of Lafayette received the Community Catalyst Award.
Anything is Possible is known for providing stellar entertainment, and this year was no exception. Guests danced to the sounds of the Neil Diamond Experience, which, if you didn’t know better, could easily have been mistaken for an actual Neil Diamond concert. After all, if Anything is Possible, maybe it was the real Neil Diamond in his diamond studded jacket? We can’t say for sure. But we do say congratulations to all the honorees and the many volunteers who help make anything possible for those in need.
