JAMISON, PA — A record 40 new students have been inducted into the Middle Bucks Institute of Technology’s chapter of the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS).
The mission of the NTHS is to honor student achievement and leadership in career and technical education, promote educational excellence, award scholarships, and enhanced career opportunities for the NTHS membership.
Nomination into the honor society is an important achievement for students and society membership is a valuable investment and the highest award of excellence in workforce education in America.
To qualify for nomination at MBIT, students must be nominated by a professional staff member, maintain an “A” average in his/her technical area, maintain a 3.4 average or better in all academic areas, be a 200 level student or higher, exhibit good character and leadership, have a discipline record with no detentions or suspensions throughout previous or current school years, plan to pursue a career or college major in their technical field of study, and have demonstrated community service experience.

In addition, John Gemmi was inducted as an honorary member of the Middle Bucks NTHS. An honorary membership recognizes a supporter who has played an important role in developing a strong community partnership.

“Not only is career and technical education (CTE) experiencing a record interest and enrollment across the Commonwealth, but this large NTHS class indicates the record setting achievement we are also seeing in CTE. Students in CTE programs have competitive advantage in their career paths and we are excited to see the bright future of these exceptional young adults,” added Administrative Director Dr. Mark Covelle.
