49 th Annual Red River Revel Arts Festival Call for Artists: Visual, Music & Performing Artists Submissions


Applications are now open for the 49 th Annual Red River Revel Arts Festival to visual, music,
and performing artists. Since 1976, the annual Red River Revel Arts Festival has offered a vast experience
through art activities, entertainment, food, and cultural traditions. The annual event, held at Festival Plaza in Shreveport, Louisiana, attracts approximately 60,000 people each year and features visual artists, four
performances stages, food booths and a children’s arts education area. The festival will operate over two
weekends: Thursday, September 25th – Sunday, September 28 th and Thursday, October 2 nd – Sunday, October 5 th , 2025.

“Visual and performing arts are the hallmarks of the Red River Revel and set the festival apart as an arts
experience of high excellence,” said Logan Lewis, Executive Director of the Red River Revel. “The jury process for visual artists is extensive and carefully organized. We also take a great deal of pride in offering a wide range of music & performing arts in both discipline and style. The goal we set out to achieve at the beginning of each year is to put together visual and performing art rosters that are dynamic and extraordinary; showcasing the highest quality of artists originating locally, regionally, and from around the world.”

Visual Artists: Visual art is a central element to the Revel and great importance is placed on quality. All
artworks must be original, designed, and handcrafted by the exhibiting artist. No commercial reproductions will be allowed. Categories include Ceramics/Pottery, Computer & Generated Art, Drawing, Fiber, Glass, Graphics & Printmaking, Jewelry, Metal, Mixed Media, Oil & Acrylics, Photography, Sculpture, Watercolor, and Wood. Artists may only exhibit and sell work in the category for which they were accepted.

All artist submissions are evaluated and selected to participate based on a blind jury process. The deadline to apply for the jury process is May 2, 2025. The Red River Revel will send acceptance notifications on May 23, 2025, at which point juried artists must complete the contract and pay deposit for booth fee by July 1, 2025. The remaining payment for booth fees will be due in full by August 1, 2025. There is a non-refundable application fee of $40.00. Applications are facilitated by Zapplication. Music: Solo Artist/Live Band: Music applications for solo artists and live bands will be considered by
committee and selected based on artistic quality, educational and entertainment value, and frequency with which the submitter has recently performed at the Red River Revel. Applications for music and performing artists allows us to organize the large number of people that would like to play or perform at the Red River Revel by reviewing style, best fit, and availability, further allowing us to focus on putting together a high degree of variety in genre, discipline, and artistic style. The deadline to apply is May 2, 2025. There is a non- refundable application fee of $10.00. Applications are available online at redriverrevel.com.

Performing Arts: Performing arts applications will be considered by committee and selected based on artistic quality, educational and entertainment value, and frequency with which the submitter has recently performed at the Red River Revel. Performing arts applications are open to dance, film, poetry & spoken word, drama & theatre, magic & puppetry, opera, vocal ensemble, and musical theatre. The deadline to apply is July 1, 2025. There is no application fee for performing arts. Applications are available online at redriverrevel.com.
