The 33,000 sq ft Samsung Opera House was lit up in Samsung’s signature shade of blue as tech enthusiasts from across the country eagerly awaited the leading brand’s latest product launch. This week, Samsung India unveiled its new era of Samsung AI TV, launching its 2024 range — Neo QLED 8K, Neo QLED 4K, and the world’s first glare-free OLED TV.
For the unversed, Samsung’s flagship store Samsung Opera House, located at Ashok Nagar in Bengaluru, is a historic landmark as during British rule in the 1930s, it was the venue for operas and dance performances. Samsung took several years to restore the Opera House as they had to maintain the original architecture, while subsequently upgrading the technology to their overall requirements. With such cultural significance attached to the venue alone, it helped enhance the significance of the brand’s 2024 launch which interlaces modern AI upgrades with the age-old love for television.
The overall vibe was buzzing as it was indeed a milestone moment for Samsung. “Our 2024 range redefines the home entertainment experience and offers new innovations across accessibility, sustainability and enhanced security with the power of AI,” shared JB Park, President and CEO of Samsung Southwest Asia. As for AI’s integration into Samsung TVs, Mohandeep Singh, Senior Vice President – Visual Display Business of Samsung India explained in a media interaction, “We feel that connected smart living is going to become a very important need as we move forward. We are bringing in AI, not because AI is getting into everything, but because we see it as a solution to develop the right ecosystem, which gives the right service to the consumers over the next 5-10 years. That’s why we are taking an early stance on AI.”
