74-year-old motorized scooter rider hit by car in Portland dies of injuries


A 74-year-old man has died after being hit by a car in broad daylight while he was crossing the street on a motorized scooter last month in the Arnold Creek neighborhood of Southwest Portland, police said.

The victim, Peter Pellegrin, was pronounced dead on Saturday, March 2 at a local hospital from injuries sustained in the Feb. 7 crash near Southwest Boones Ferry Road and Southwest 19th Avenue, according to a release from the Portland Police Bureau. The crash happened around 1:47 p.m.
