October has seen a flurry of new smartphones. Generative AI was one of the talking points of Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro smartphones while OnePlus made its global foldable smartphone debut with the OnePlus Open smartphone that was launched in India. We’ve also seen a slew of tablet launches from Samsung and OnePlus that are making a play in the affordable tab segment. It’s been almost five years since Apple launched an Apple Pencil. The third-gen Apple Pencil, the most affordable in the line-up made its debut this month. We round up the best new launches for your gadget wish list:

OnePlus Open

Price: Rs 1,39,999

Call it late mover advantage, OnePlus’ new foldable smartphone has hit all the right notes. OnePlus reimagines the foldable smartphone with new immersive displays. You get two vibrant, Super Fluid AMOLED displays (6.31-inch and 7.82-inch) displays that are both equally functional and feature a 120 Hz refresh rate. The Open scores with its rear cam co-designed with Hasselblad and a power-packed spec sheet that includes 512GB of internal storage.

Google Pixel 8

Price: Rs 75,999

It’s the smaller of the two Pixel 8 siblings and by no means a pushover. Google has made significant hardware improvements over last year’s Pixel 7. It’s one of the best smaller smartphones you can buy and weighs under 190 gm (it’s 10 gm lighter than the Pixel 7). One of the big changes you will notice is the 6.2-inch OLED display. It peaks at 2000 nits and features a 120Hz refresh rate. It’s powered by the same Tensor G3 chip as the Pixel 8 Pro and comes with an array of AI-driven optimisations and camera tools like Best Take.

Apple Pencil (USB-C)

Price: Rs 7,900

The third addition to the Apple Pencil line, the new USB-C Apple Pencil brings quite a few features at a more affordable price point. A sliding cap reveals a USB-C port, that offers a convenient charging option. It magnetically attaches to the iPad for storage (just like its predecessor) but does not charge wirelessly. You can take advantage of the ‘hover’ feature when used with M2 models of the iPad Pro; this allows you to sketch and illustrate with greater precision.

With Quick Share, you can easily move Content between Samsung mobile, tablets and TV monitors.

If you’re looking for a binge-watch screen under Rs 20,000, OnePlus’ newest tab deserves to be on your radar. It’s the 11.35-inch, 2.4K display that is one of the headline features of this tab. Just like the flagship OnePlus Pad, this one also opts for a 7:5 display ratio. This display hits a peak brightness of 400 nits and features a fast refresh rate of 90Hz that makes it a great gaming accessory. It’s backed by a quad speaker setup that supports Dolby Atmos. The base variant comes with 128GB of internal storage.
