Television show to showcase what Fall River has to offer in cuisine and outdoor activities

Despite being a city full of congestion and mill buildings, Fall River also has several beautiful locations in nature which a New England show is about to showcase.

Explore New England had an eye-opening, productive—and fun—several days of filming in Fall River earlier this year and was pleasantly surprised at the number of outdoor activities the Scholarship City has to offer.

Exec. Producer and Host Tom Richardson kayaked on South Watuppa Pond with Mike Labossiere, a multi-generational inhabitant of Fall River and the city’s Watershed Forester.

Richardson next went bass fishing on the Taunton River with Brian Patterson of Patterson Guide Service.

After working up an appetite, Richardson stopped for burgers, fried calamari, fish tacos, and crab nachos at Pier 52 which he noted were all delicious.

Next was mountain biking through the Copicut Woods, the 13,800-acre Southeastern Massachusetts Bioreserve and a Trustees of Reservations property, with John Tomawski.

Richardson closed the visit with a trip to the Quequechan Rail Trail with Sarah Labossiere of the South Coast Bikeway.

The Fall River episode of Explore New England can be seen at 9:00 a.m. on NESN on Sunday and repeated on Monday at 4:30 p.m.
