Colin Jost Faces Backlash After Making a ‘Racist’ Joke About Beyoncé on Saturday Night Live

As part of the yearly December tradition, Michael Che and Colin Jost of Saturday Night Live offered a series of gags.

The hilarity continued when Jost crafted several cringe-worthy jokes for Che that appeared ‘racist’ to the audience.

Che uttered a quip about Beyoncé: “Last month Beyoncé posted a photo on Instagram of herself in a chrome Versace dress and platinum blonde hair that many people online described as ‘too white.’”

“In fact, Beyoncé looked so white that I was finally attracted to her,” he laughed.

Che also appeared to step over a line during this year’s live event, welcoming “someone very special,” he said, “who was last on this show, Season 3, 46 years ago.”

“Poet, author, activist… Please welcome Dr. Hattie Davis, ladies and gentlemen,” screamed the comedian.

When Scarlett Johansson came on screen, Jost continued with the script, which stated, “New York state now allows movie theaters to serve alcohol, which is how I’m finally able to enjoy my wife’s little art movies.”

It became much more intense when Jost read, “I’m kidding, honey. I love all of your movies. And if you ask me, you’re an even better black widow than Coretta Scott King.”

The trio has frequently landed in hot water for making ‘racist’ remarks.

A person expressed his displeasure with such comedy on X, formerly known as Twitter, writing: “Michael Che and Colin Jost couldn’t write decent material if their lives depended on it. They write blatant racist jokes for Weekend Update and giggle while delivering them.”
