Taylor Swift’s birthday ring, allegedly given to her by boyfriend Travis Kelce, has far more significance than fans initially believed.
As photos from Swift’s 34th birthday event circulated online last week, admirers noticed Swift wearing a massive ring on her middle finger.
Fans identified the stones right away: a large opal center stone surrounded by a halo of lesser London blue topazes – Swift’s birthstone.
However, Rare Carat gemologist Karly Bulinski told Page Six that the “very sentimental” ring contains far more importance than admirers initially assumed.
First of all, “Opal is said to represent hope and purity, while blue topaz is said to help channel your inner wisdom.”
“Since ancient times, opals have symbolised good luck, fortune, and power – which seems to be particularly fitting for Taylor Swift.”
Mike Fried, another jeweler, told the outlet that the halo may be constructed of a variety of blue gemstones, including blue zircon or tanzanite – both December birthstones like blue topaz.
Fried speculated that the rich color could be tanzanite, which is known to “carry high energy and improve vitality.”
Bulinski assessed the ring’s value to be roughly $10,000, whereas Fried estimated a significantly higher $175,000.
In 2016, she told US Weekly, “My favorite stone is an opal because when I was bullied in school, my mom used to take me to T.J. Maxx after school to look at the opal jewelry.”
The Love Story diva wore an opal necklace in September of this year, feeding the then-unconfirmed romance rumors with the NFL player.
