Ashton Kutcher Quits Thorn and Apologizes for Previously Expressing Support for Danny Masterson

Ashton Kutcher is leaving the board of a group that he helped start to stop sexual abuse of children.

This choice comes after he said he was wrong to write a letter of support for his friend Danny Masterson, who was in jail and facing serious charges.

In a letter to the group Thorn, Kutcher admitted that the letters of support he and his wife, Mila Kunis, wrote were a “error in judgment.”

He talked about the struggles that sexual abuse victims have had in the past and how important it is not to question their bravery when they talk about their experiences.

After several days of deep thought, talks with survivors, and talks with Thorn’s workers and leaders,

Kutcher made the hard choice to quit his job as Chairman of the Board right away.

He said he was committed to making sure that his past mistakes wouldn’t take away from the important job that the organization does and the children they help.

When their letters, in which they called Masterson a “honest” man, were found, the reaction was like a tidal wave.

Unfortunately, these letters didn’t change the judge’s mind, and Masterson was given a 30-year prison term.

Before this happened, Ashton Kutcher was a strong supporter of the group. He even testified in front of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

He talked about the scary truths he had learned about child s*x trafficking through his work with the charity.
