Dad Ed Butera and Ariana Grande Watch Their Son Perform in ‘Spamalot’ on Broadway

Ariana Grande went to Spamalot with her father to see her lover.

Grande, 30, posted a video to her Instagram Story on Sunday, December 24, showing Ed Butera, 65, backstage at New York City’s St. James Theatre. In the video, Butera danced around the set.

“‘Don’t touch the props,’” the music sensation wrote on Sunday as she watched Butera clap two half-circles together to make a galloping sound.

Grande is heard giggling and saying, “Wait, what?”

After repeating his daughter’s post to his own Instagram Story, Butera added, “So much fun!!”

Grande has seen the Broadway performance of Spamalot three times since it opened in November, thanks to her boyfriend, Ethan Slater.

The Prince/Historian is played by 31-year-old Slater. (Grande is also a real Broadway baby, having made her Broadway debut as a teenager in Jason Robert Brown’s 13 The Musical.)

Grande went to see Spamalot in previews with co-star Elizabeth Gillies from Victorious and 13 The Musical. A few weeks later, Grande made her public appearance on the real opening night.

In July, it was announced that Grande and Slater fell in love while filming the two Wicked movies in London. (In the film adaptation, Grande will play Galinda/Glinda, and Slater will play munchkin Boq; however, production has been halted due to the SAG-AFTRA strike.)
