Lee Sun-Kyun, Who Played in Parasite, Was Found Dead in a Drug Case

Lee Sun-kyun, a South Korean actor, was discovered dead in his automobile on Thursday, December 27. He was 48.

The revelation came just a day after Sun-kyun, well known for his part in Parasite, was arrested for drug addiction.

Soompi stated that the Seoul Seongbuk Police Station discovered “an unconscious man inside a parked car in Seoul’s Waryong Park. They had gone to the site after receiving an emergency call from a woman who said her husband had left the house after writing what appeared to be a suicide note.”

The police also stated that they discovered traces of lit charcoal briquettes inside Sun-kyun’s automobile, implying that this was a suicide attempt.

The actor was accused of illegal drug use in October and has been under investigation since then. Following the drug conviction, the actor faced public criticism, prompting him to withdraw from several projects he was working on.

Sun-kyun left the set of his new drama, No Way Out, earlier this week due to his involvement in the probe.

Prior to his death, the actor had been questioned by police three times about his alleged drug use.

During the interrogation, Sun-kyun stated that he took the medicines by accident.

“I inhaled using a straw through my nose but thought it was a sleeping pill. I didn’t know it was a drug.”
