American cuisine has very much made its way over to Ireland over the years. You can’t turn a corner in some parts of Ireland without finding a McDonald’s, a KFC or a Burger King.
But some things that are extremely popular in America have never made it across the sea. Applebee’s is a huge deal in the US, but are nowhere to be found in Ireland, the same goes for Taco Bell and Cracker Barrel.
You can also add Olive Garden to that list – but one Irish woman went over to the US and tried it out.
In her post on TikTok about Olive Garden, food reviewer LesBcookin said that her expectations were “on the floor” about the chain, but she left pleasanlty surprised.
She said: “I know Olive Garden are famous for their breadsticks, but I was not aware that every main course also comes with a neverending salad or soup.
“The breadsticks were fresh out of the oven. They’re brushed with olive oil, they taste a little bit like garlic, and are quite salty. They’re tasty, I get it, but why would you need more than one basket of these?
“The salad was fresh, and my spinach and artichoke dip was indescribably good.”

She went on to say that for a massive amount of food, she only paid £103, which she felt was very reasonable.
Overall, the Irishwoman felt extremely happy with what she managed to get in the popular restaurant, despite having gone there with low expectations.
