One injured in shooting outside Denver Museum of Nature and Science

One person was injured in a shooting in the parking lot of the Denver Museum of Nature and Science on Sunday afternoon, according to the Denver Police Department.

The shooting was reported at 2:45 p.m. in the 2000 block of North Colorado Boulevard, said department spokesperson Kurt Barnes.

The person who was shot took themselves to a local hospital for treatment after the shooting, and their condition was not immediately available, Barnes said.

It does not appear the victim knew the person who shot them, Barnes said, and police are seeking information from anyone who may have witnessed the shooting.

A separate shooting in the 1500 block of Emporia Street seriously injured a young teenage boy on Saturday afternoon, according to Aurora police.

Denver police also responded to three shootings early Saturday morning that killed two people and injured four others.

Anyone with information about any of the shootings can contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.
