Ed Sheeran bid farewell to 2023 and welcomed 2024 in superhero fashion.

Ed Sheeran showed his passion for Marvel by embracing Mjolnir, Thor’s hammer, in a photo included in his 2023 recap on Sunday. The photograph was shared on his Instagram account.

In the photo, the singer, 32, is seen grasping the handle of the Norse god’s famous sword beside actor Chris Hemsworth, who plays the superhero.

On social media, the musician recently uploaded a sweet selfie of himself and his wife Cherry. He also placed a remark in the caption that said, “Have a good one yeah nice one love you.”

Sheeran donated the superhero’s weapon in exchange for one of his guitars when the two met in February of this year.

‘I’ll make this guitar sing like no other and you swing that hammer with all your soul,’ the forty-year-old actor said on Instagram after posting a video of their encounter. “Love you brother!”

In the video, the Cabin in the Woods actor refers to Sheeran Mjonir as “my own weapon of choice.”

“[I’m] really into trading trade tools for trade tools,” he continued.

After gifting Hemsworth one of his earlier live guitars, the songwriter joked about them switching occupations.

Sheeran went on to share a sketch of the courtroom in which he appeared to be strumming a guitar during his copyright trial in April of last year.

The heirs of Ed Townsend, who co-wrote Marvin Gaye’s hit song Let’s Get It On, took the singer to court, claiming that he stole elements of the song for his song Thinking Out Loud.

After singing for the court throughout his trial, the songwriter eventually won his claim.

As he finished his performance, the Grammy Award-winning singer uploaded several photographs of himself collaborating with other artists.
