Joe Don Rooney returned on social media to address rumors regarding his health, specifically transitioning.
To ring in the new year, the guitarist took to X, formerly known as Twitter, and wrote a lengthy statement.
“That thought has never entered my mind,” he claimed. “Nothing against the trans community whatsoever but I needed to set the record straight,” he asserted, dismissing all speculations about his wanting to transition into a woman.
Rooney discussed her absence from the platform, adding that she chose a “good day” to deliver an engaging message to the globe, noting, “It’s actually been a couple years since I’ve engaged with fans and friends on Twitter (now X) or Instagram.”
“But I figured today, at the beginning of this brand new year 2024, would be a good day to send a message out to the world,” he said.
Joe Don Rooney was arrested for DUI.
Back in 2021, the American musician spoke exclusively about his arrest for driving under the influence.
A representative for the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office verified that the musician was charged with driving under the influence near Nashville.
He was apprehended shortly after an automobile accident.
“I probably would’ve never taken responsibility for any of this if it hadn’t been for my car wreck on Sep 9, 2021. And btw, going to jail sucks!,” Rooney wrote, rehashing the accident’s hysteria.
From 1999 to 2021, Joe Don Rooney was the active lead guitarist of the American Country pop duo Rascal Flatts.
