Taylor Swift’s answer to Jo Koy’s joke at the 2024 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday, January 7, proved to elicit mixed reactions.

Koy, who hosted the awards in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, made a reference to the singer’s regular outings to support boyfriend Travis Kelce at Kansas City Chiefs football games.

“The big difference between the Golden Globes and the NFL? At the Golden Globes, we have fewer camera shots of Taylor Swift. I swear,” stated Koy, 52. “There’s just more to go to.”

Swift responded with a solemn expression and sipped her drink, appearing slightly upset by the remark.

Swifties went on board to support the Ant-Hero singer as fans took notice of the moment.

Among the countless words of support, several social media users suspected Swift of taking the ‘light-hearted’ prank a little too seriously.

“She’s dating a football player and is photographed at his games a lot so how is pointing that out offensive? Did they breakup recently?” According to one user.

“What did she expect?” remarked another. That she’s off-limits for jokes and/or being roasted? You agreed to this.”

“His jokes were hilarious and he only lightly roasted her, yet she couldn’t take it,” one of them said. “Maybe she should stay home and wait for the Grammys.”
