Cheryl Tweedy, who used to date Liam Payne, has sent him well wishes after he was rushed to the hospital earlier this month.

The former member of One Direction was at a five-star hotel in Lake Como with his current girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, when he started having “agonizing” kidney pain.

I talked to OK! A source said that Cheryl, with whom Payne has a six-year-old son named Bear, “is very kind” and “just wants [him] to be happy and healthy.”

“She’s always tried to support him because he’s Bear’s father and she’s always tried to be there for him,” they said.

“t’s very hard for Cheryl – she feels upset about it. She is worried and concerned for Liam because he’s Bear’s dad and she wants him to be the best dad he can be.”

Liam and Cheryl met for the first time in 2008, when Liam tried out for the X Factor UK. Cheryl was 24 and Liam was 14 at the time.

In the end, they went public with their relationship at the end of 2015, and two years later, Bear was born.

In June 2018, they said they were no longer together.
