Gimmicks and restaurants are rarely long-lasting relationships. McDonald’s kids’ meals aside, they are more desperate than strategic.
I’m talking about restaurants like the Drug Lord Restaurant in Australia, which served the Pablo Escoburger complete with a line of garlic powder and a fake $100 bill; or the hospital-themed Singapore restaurant The Clinic, which accommodated its guests in wheelchairs who sucked cocktails from an IV bag; or the Nazi-themed restaurant in Indonesia called Soldatenkaffee, whose owner eventually closed it because of the frequent death threats.
