Lee Da-hee, Kim Nam-gil and Cha Eunwoo starrer Island won big at The 28th Asian Television Awards that were held on January 13 in Vietnam, despite receiving mixed reviews from viewers.

At the 28th Asian Television Awards, that were held on January 13 this year in Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam, the K-drama series Island bagged the award for Best Original Digital Drama. For the unversed, Island is a fantasy-hero K-drama that follows three individuals, Won Min-ho (Lee Da-hee), Van (Kim Nam-gil) and Johan (Cha Eunwoo), who unite to fight against a greater evil set to destroy the world.
The K-drama series, that aired on TVING from December 30, 2022, also bagged the Best Original Productions By A Streamer/OTT at the Asian Academy Creative Awards 2023.

Launches in 1996, the Asian Television Awards recognize and reward programming and production excellence in the Asian television industry. The award show comprises of 56 categories across news, documentaries, current affairs, kids and animation, entertainment, drama, technical, digital as well as performances including acting and directing. Often called in the ‘Emmys of Asia,’ the prestigious award show has an extensive jury which includes 50 members from all over Asia who select the nominees and winners.
