Linda Ronstadt has personally signed off on Selena Gomez, who will play her in the recently revealed biopic.
The 31-year-old singer will play the music icon in a future autobiographical film, Rolling Stone said on Wednesday, Jan. 10.
The announcement came shortly after the Rare Beauty businesswoman fanned rumours by sharing a snapshot of herself reading Ronstadt’s 2013 novel, Simple Dreams, on Instagram Stories.
Speaking with TMZ, insiders confirmed the revelation, adding that development on the biography is presently in its “very early stages.”
The Silk Purse creator “personally approved of Selena herself,” as the insider insisted: “[Linda] is happy that [Selena] is attached to the project,” adding the legend believes she is the “perfect fit.”
The Heart Wants What It Wants singer reportedly visited with Linda in private at her house a few months back.
“Linda and her team are directly tied to the production,” the source revealed, adding that the plot will “revolve around her [memoir].”
