Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Was Invited to Clive Davis’ Pre-Grammy Celebration Despite Lawsuits

Despite the numerous sexual assault charges against him, Sean Diddy Combs has some influence in the music industry.

After all, the music mogul has been a household name in the industry for years, and his record, Off the Grid, was nominated for a Grammy for Best Progressive R&B record.

Although the Hollywood Reporter earlier claimed that he will not attend the coveted awards ceremony despite his nomination, Combs’ invitation to Clive Davis’ famed pre-Grammy event remains open, should he wish to attend.

A source familiar with the star-studded guest list told Page Six, “[Combs] is always invited to the party. “He is always on the list.”

Meanwhile, another astute observer noticed that the I’ll Be Missing You rapper was mysteriously absent from the photo montage of the celebration that usually accompanies Davis’ annual invitation, despite appearing three times last year.

However, a representative for the former Revolt CEO, who resigned after the terrifying allegations against him late last year, informed the site that “Puffy wasn’t scrubbed.”

They went on to say, “Each year, the photos included in the pre-Grammy gala invitation are updated. Different artists and performers are changed from year to year.”

In a December 2023 statement to Rolling Stone, the Recording Academy stated, “We are taking this matter [of the allegations against Combs] very seriously and we are in the process of evaluating it with the time and care that it deserves.”

However, Combs was not barred from attending the 2024 Grammys because the Academy’s customary policy is to invite all nominees.
