‘In the Fire’ Trailer: Amber Heard Returns to Hollywood Following Johnny Depp Trial

With the new In the Fire trailer, Amber Heard is back in the game.

Amber Heard’s ex-husband, Johnny Depp, won a high-profile slander case against her. Now, she is getting ready to make her Hollywood comeback in the new movie In the Fire, in which she fights a demon.

In the teaser for Conor Allyn’s supernatural psychological thriller set in the 1890s, Heard plays Grace Burnham, a psychiatrist who takes care of a troubled child with mysterious skills on a remote Colombian farm.

Burnham brings science and religion into conflict when she starts therapy for the boy. The local priest thinks the boy is under the control of the devil and is to blame for the problems in the town.

“Those people are scared. And they need something to blame for that fear. And it’s you,” Burnham tells the young boy, who is played by Lorenzo McGovern Zaini, at one point in the video.

Heard kept making “In the Fire” until March 2022. A jury in Virginia found that Johnny Depp’s ex-wife slandered him when she wrote an opinion piece for The Washington Post in December 2018 in which she said she had been a victim of domestic abuse. In June, the jury gave Johnny Depp $15 million in his lawsuit against Heard.
