Sania Mirza and Shoaib Malik’s divorce has been making headlines after the once-celebrated Indo-Pakistani power couple officially parted ways. Their fairytale wedding in 2010, followed by the birth of their son, cemented their image as the epitome of sporting power and family bliss. However, whispers of discord began to permeate media channels in recent years. Mirza’s cryptic social media posts and Malik’s marriage to Pakistani actress Sana Javed served as the final confirmation of the growing distance between them.
Their marriage comes two months after his divorce from Indian tennis star Sania Mirza. However, a Pakistan TV Channel has now made a sensational claim on the duration of of Shoaib and Sana Javed’s affair. According to the Pakistani TV channel Samaa TV, Shoaib Malik has been involved with Sana Javed for three years since they first met in a TV show.
“Mirza got the news about the meeting of former captain Shoaib Malik and actress Sana Javed three to four months ago, after which the last fight between the two took place on the same issue. Malik had been dating Sana Javed for the past three years and at that time Sana was married to famous singer and composer Umair Jaiswal,” the report claimed.”
“There was no flexibility in Shoaib Malik’s attitude to take the relationship forward, nor did Sania Mirza want to bear the matter further,” the report further added.
The report also claimed that Mirza and Malik’s separation was handled quietly, and hardly anyone had an inkling about their separation. “Itni khamosi se ye talaq hui, itni khamoshi se ki jaise kisi mulk me aatmee mansooba jo hai wo paya tak pahuchaya jata hai, chup karke khamoshi se (The divorce was done in such silence that no one could have a hint of that. It was all so quiet and nobody came to know about the separation),” the report added.
Earlier, a report by The Pakistan Daily stated that Mirza was tired of Malik’s infidelity and extramarital affairs. The report further stated that Malik’s sisters expressed serious concern over his divorce from Mirza and did not attend his third wedding with Sana Javed.
According to Indian news outlet PTI, it was Sania Mirza who had initiated the divorce and proceeded with a ‘khula.’ Khula is the right of a Muslim woman to unilaterally divorce her husband.
