Kenneth Petty, Nicki Minaj’s Husband, Has Been Placed Under House Arrest After Threatening Offset

Kenneth Petty broke the rules of his probation when he put up a video on social media that seemed to threaten the rapper Offset. So, Nicki Minaj’s husband was given a term of 120 days of home detention.

A court in the Central District of California ruled on Wednesday that Petty needs to be watched at home because “was recorded on video making threatening remarks to a specific individual while in the company of someone with a criminal record.”

Offset is the person named in the order, and the clips are connected to a series of comments Petty made about the rapper on social media on September 16.

In 2020, Petty pleaded guilty to not registering as a sex offender in the state of California. In July 2022, he was put on three years of probation. In 1995, Petty was found guilty in New York of trying to rape a 16-year-old girl in the first degree. He was given a four-year prison term.

In a video clip that went viral on social media on September 16, Petty and some of his friends are seen outside of a New York City hotel where Offset is said to be living.

In the clip, Petty says, among other scary things, “Plan that vacation, you gonna be planning your funeral [expletive]!”

In a video that Offset posted to his social media, he laughed off the threats. “I’m getting off a jet, he’s funny,” Offset said, hinting that Petty was broke.
