EAST POINT, Ga. — National and state leaders will be on hand Tuesday afternoon for a roundtable on child nutrition at Tri-Cities High School in East Point.
Among them will be U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack, Congresswoman Nikema Williams and Georgia State School Superintendent Richard Woods, according to a release.
The event is scheduled for 2:45 p.m. The roundtable will also feature child nutrition experts, the release said, to “highlight the Biden-Harris Administration’s efforts to expand access to healthy meals for more students and improve the nutritional quality of these meals.”
“These actions are key to the BidenHarris Administration’s National Strategy on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health, which committed to ending hunger and increasing healthy eating by 2030 so fewer Americans experience diet-related diseases, while reducing health disparities,” the release said.
