Local Florida officials reported that a man was killed Wednesday afternoon when a cement mixing machine was turned on while he was working inside it. The event occurred at approximately 4:30 p.m. at a worksite for Foley Products, a Georgia-based maker of concrete materials. A spokeswoman for Escambia County stated that the unnamed man became “entangled” after the machine was turned on. The person, who suffered catastrophic injuries, was extricated after emergency medical services were summoned to the scene. Shortly thereafter, he was pronounced dead, according to officials. According to the Pensacola News Journal, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration and the county sheriff’s office are investigating the incident.
