Haute Couture Fashion Week has officially kicked off in Paris – and the designs are quirkier than ever. On Aura Tout Vu impressed with their artistic show in recent days
Haute Couture Fashion Week is officially underway – and we’ve already seen some jaw-dropping designs on the catwalk.
The biannual event takes place in Paris, France. “Haute couture” translates as “high sewing” or “high dressmaking”, so models are decked out in only the best.
Not only are the garments custom-made and exquisitely finished, they also represent art and innovation. And this out-of-the-box thinking was certainly present at the On Aura Tout Vu runway show.
Intricate lace material, sparkly embellishments and bold geometric designs were a staple on the catwalk. But the most eye-catching accessory seemed to be breastplates and prosthetic boobs.
Why, you may ask? Designers Yassen Samouilov and Livia Stoianova pride themselves on breaking convention.
Describing their show, a brand spokesperson said: “Dive into a world of fake body illusions, bejeweled inspirations, and optical illusion prints. It’s a celebration of diversity and a captivating study in contradictions.”
While we wouldn’t recommend wearing any of these outfits down to your local supermarket, we can certainly appreciate the beauty in them.
So what do you make of the looks? Check them out in our gallery below…
