FTC Lobs Deceptive Advertising Charge Against Big TV User | Radio & Television Business Report


WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Federal Trade Commission has found that the maker of a popular tax filing software, a regular user of Spot Cable and Spot TV dating back several years, engaged in deceptive advertising — a violation of the FTC Act.

As such, the Trade Commission says, TurboTax parent Intuit Inc. “deceived consumers when it ran ads for ‘free’ tax products and services for which many consumers were ineligible.”
