The idea of creating multifunctional spaces tailored to Sinha’s lifestyle was at the heart of reD Architects’ creative process. An airy four-bedroom apartment was duly transformed into a 1.5 bedroom home complete with an art studio, a yoga area, a dedicated dressing room, and a walk-in wardrobe overlooking the sea. Sliding walls, Murphy beds, and automated screens allow the actor to continually adapt her home to fit her every requirement. “Rajiv and Ekta have done a fantastic job of getting my vibe right,” a satisfied Sinha tells us. – Nuriyah Johar

Anoushka Shankar’s Murals And Repurposed Rugs

Anoushka tells me that they found the house before the pandemic (she and her husband, the British director Joe Wright, divorced in 2018), but a long-delayed renovation meant that they weren’t able to move in until March 2021. Anoushka says she always envisioned staying in leafy Islington, close to her children’s school, friends, and paternal grandmother, and that this building had an innate warmth. She enlisted the help of her friend, interior designer Rachel Chudley, whom she met through mutual acquaintances a few years ago. “I told her, ‘I’d like all of my life represented,’” laughs Anoushka, especially, she says, her nomadic childhood spent between the British capital, Delhi, and California.
