Home decor company India Circus to launch int’l website; Open 8-10 more stores

New Delhi: Home and decor company India Circus is planning to launch an international website next month for soft goods like cushion covers and table runners, said its founder Krsnaa Mehta in an interaction with ETRetail.

The brand is focusing on markets including Asia Pacific, The Middle East, and Europe.

“In Europe we are working on a business partner who will do the warehousing for us in Northern England, so the European shipment time is reduced,” said Mehta adding that going forward, the brand will explore strategic warehousing in other zones such as the US and the Middle East.

Additionally, the company is in talks with Amazon’s export program for warehousing and brand store in the US.

Established in 2013, India Circus is a home and decor company, acquired by Godrej & Boyce Manufacturing in 2018.

The company generates half of its revenue from its website, 35-40 per cent from retail stores, and the rest via bulk buying and gifting.

Mehta highlighted that a significant share of consumers are buying products from their website over other e-commerce platforms.

Talking about geography-wise contribution, he said, “50-60% of our sales from the website come from top 5 cities like Mumbai and Delhi. As the home decor trend is increasing we are receiving orders from tier 2 and 3 cities.”

Sharing the offline expansion plan, Mehta mentioned that the company is selective in opening the stores and is opting for high street locations for their stores.

In 2023 the company had 16 retail stores and plans to open 8-10 more stores in 2024.
