Lionsgate is continuing to ramp up its proprietary unscripted television content business. The newly launched Lionsgate Alternative Television (LAT) Jan. 25 announced it has signed with global talent, entertainment, sports, and advisory company UTA for representation.

LAT was formed following Lionsgate’s recent acquisition of Canada’s eOne from Hasbro, with Emmy and Peabody Award-winning producer Craig Piligian named managing director of the unit.

The division includes Pilgrim Media Group, Renegade 83, Blackfin, Daiseybeck Studios and eOne’s  U.S. and U.K. unscripted groups, the labels responsible for reality TV series such as “Naked and Afraid,” “Street Outlaws,” “Wicked Tuna,” “The Yorkshire Vet,” and “Ex on the Beach,” as well limited series, “Killer Inside: The Mind of Aaron Hernandez,” and “Tulsa Burning: The 1921 Race Massacre”

“With deep buyer relationships and industry expertise, UTA will be an exceptional partner for Lionsgate Alternative Television as we continue to scale our operations and strengthen our role as an unscripted powerhouse,” Piligian said in a statement.

Alongside Piligian, the LAT management team includes Gretchen Stockdale serving as president and Nicholas Caprio serving as EVP. David Garfinkle and Jay Renfroe serve as senior executives.
