Russell Brand Denounces ‘Constructed Narrative’ in Sexual Assault Claims

Russell Brand didn’t take a break from social media when he was accused of sexual assault, and he told his fans to support his Rumble channel to fight the “constructed narrative” against him.

In a video shared on his social media late Friday night, the 48-year-old comedian asked for people’s support because he had a “extraordinary and distressing week” after being accused of sexual and emotional abuse by multiple women earlier this month.

The well-known conspiracy theorist criticized the Trusted News Initiative (TNI), a group of major news and tech organizations from around the world working together. He said, “trust is the last thing you should be offering,” and that “we have to be very, very cautious indeed.”

The English podcaster said, “The TNI is a collaboration between big tech and legacy media organizations, to target, control, choke, and shut down independent media organizations… like this one.”

“These organisations collaborate in constructing narratives, whether that’s around the war, the pandemic, and of course, there are other examples,” he said.

Four women, one of whom was 16 at the time of the alleged attack, accused Brand of rape, sexual abuse, and emotional abuse. The Times, The Sunday Times, and Channel 4 Dispatches did a joint probe and released a bombshell report.

After the first report, a number of other women have come forward with their own scary stories about the comic.

Brand quickly denied the claims, blaming “mainstream media attacks” on him for the “censorship” of his channels by several broadcasting services, including the BBC.

The actor from Forgetting Sarah Marshall thanked fans for “questioning the information” they were given and asked them to support his Rumble channel. He then signed off with the show’s tagline, “Stay free.”
